The former Minister of Aviation and PDP staunch member., Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode has expressed his displeasure and disappointments following the announcement by the Group Managing Director of Access Bank Plc that the financial institution would be engaging in mass retrenchment.
Fani-Kayode at early hour on 3rd of May 2020 reacted on his twitter page that the Group donated 1 Billion Naira to the federal Govt to fight Covid-19 and sacks 100 of his loyal staffs afterward.

‘’You gave 1 Billion Naira to the FG to fight Covid-19 & the next day you sacked hundreds of your loyal staff. You betrayed your workers & turned your back on them when they needed you most because you were more interested in ur profits &appeasing Buhari. @myaccessbank SHAME ON U!
“Worse still you shut down 340 of your branches! With a stroke of the pen you have thrown thousands of people into unemployment at a time when they are already going through hell because of the lockdown & you have destroyed many families.@Herbertwigwe, how do you sleep at night?’’
Meanwhile, In an emotion-laden voice, Wigwe insists: “The group probably don’t need as many Staffs, security men as required, even to the fact that they are not going have all branches open between now and December.
Furthermore, he also said they don’t need all the tea girls, cleaners and also front desk attendance.”

It would be recalled that two days ago, EntrepreneurReporters reported how the bank’s MD, Herbert Wigwe, in a leak video with some senior members of the bank’s administration divulged that it would be sacking 75% of its staff strength and also will be cutting down salaries by 40 % starting from this month, May, 2020.
