With the recent increase in COVID-19 cases and the continuous lockdown across the country, Bolt, an Estonian transportation platform company, with a branch in Nigeria, is set to join Gokada’s GoChop, Jumia Food, Ofood, and OyaNow in the food delivery business.
This announcement was made recently by the company, and according to the company the new venture will allow users to order from partner restaurants using the app while promising food businesses in more visibility and a vast distribution network to its 1 million users.

According to Bolt, the launch of this new venture is to carter for small businesses and others that may need its service.
It would be recalled that sometime in March, the Nigerian government began banned the use of okada and other transportation means in some major parts in the country especially Lagos, and no doubt this affected Bolt too, as well as others.
